This page is to collect unique, fun, interesting projects - to me, at any rate - that I have or am working on. It is a more classic "Look at this neat stuff!" webpage, so please forgive the personal enthusiasm.

First in this list is the conversion to Pure Electric Vehicle of my '86 Pontiac Fiero. Now I have to apologize because these images are not of my car - I don't have decent digital pictures of it, and wanted to get this Website up and active; so my thanks go to electric Fiero owners who have taken nice shots of their projects, so I can point and say "Mine is just like that, only less pretty."

The battery set looks like this: 20 deep-discharge lead-acid units, 13 in the back and 7 in the front, 72 pounds (!) each. They came from Interstate Batteries, whom I recommend, largely because they were so very patient with my slow rate of picking the things up. The other major component, the motor, is also a rock-solid reliable device from Advanced DC Motors.

The biggest recommendation I can give, though, goes to KTA Services Inc., which will solve - genuinely not kidding - all your electric vehicle needs, questions, concerns, and wonders. It is a focused, astoundingly knowledgeable, genuinely one-stop shop.

Professionally speaking, my proudest achievement is the SENS simplex communications system, currently serving a wide swath of the planet's surface - even more, in truth, than this map conservatively suggests. It is now off on its own, my ambitious science project, running strong, serving all sorts of applications in all kinds of industries. That's an astounding sensation.
